From portraits that honor a life to large-scale sculpture created for public spaces, Mike Leckie works with individuals, families, institutions, and communities to give enduring form to a person, story, or idea. With more than 50 years of experience in bronze, marble, stone, and bas-relief, Mike guides each commission from the first conversation through design, scale, material selection, fabrication, and installation.

Every commission begins with a conversation. Share the subject, setting, purpose, desired size, timeline, and budget, and the studio will help identify the right approach.

Bas-Relief

Bas-relief brings a portrait or scene forward from a flat background, allowing remarkable detail in a form suited to awards, commemorative pieces, donor recognition, architectural settings, and limited presentations. Working from photographs and other reference materials, Mike has created bas-relief sculpture for the 1989 World Champion Masters Track Meet and the 2008, 2012, and 2016 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon. A relief may be produced as an intimate cast piece or translated into a larger work in bronze or marble.

Small commissioned bas-relief works are $3,000 and include two hydrostone casts of the same design. Other sizes and materials are quoted individually.

Bronze

Bronze carries fine detail, strength, and permanence, making it well suited to portraits, figurative work, memorials, awards, and sculpture for public spaces. Mike has worked in bronze since the 1970s and is internationally recognized for portrait sculpture. Each commission is developed around the person or story being honored, the setting in which the work will live, and the scale and presence the finished sculpture should carry.

Bronze commissions are individually priced according to scale, complexity, casting, site requirements, and installation.

Marble

Marble has held the human form for centuries. Its surface can carry both subtle expression and architectural presence. Mike brings decades of carving experience to portraits, figures, memorials, and site-specific works, selecting stone whose color and movement belong to the subject and setting.

Marble commissions are individually priced according to the selected stone, scale, complexity, site requirements, and installation.

Exotic Stone

Stone is never only a material. Its color, veining, translucence, density, and origin help shape the work itself. Mike has sourced distinctive carving stones from around the world and works with each one to reveal a figure that feels inseparable from the material. Availability varies by stone, scale, and project needs.

Pricing depends on the selected stone, its availability, the scale and complexity of the work, and installation requirements.
